Contributing to the success of a global investment portfolio worth billions of euros. That's what you'll do as an investment controller at NN Group Finance in The Hague. Your calculations and analyses are used as information by portfolio managers, Finance, Insurance Clients, Risk and other stakeholders to make decisions on. As we increasingly move towards sustainable investments, you'll also help shape our ESG investments. And you'll be driving changes in tooling to boost analytics and controlling efficiency. Get ready for a challenging role and build your career at the Netherlands' largest financial services provider.

Wat ga je doen?

As an investment controller, you will be advising eleven life and non-life insurance business units all over the world. You'll play a crucial role in their investment strategies, including our move towards sustainable investments, as you'll be forecasting the longer-term impact of the proposed investments on the portfolio. Your calculations and analyses are the basis of the decision-making process. And your reports cover anything from yield and risks to compliance with IFRS, Solvency II, ESG and NN's own stringent metrics.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Calculating and analyzing the impact of investment strategies, on which you report to the group's portfolio managers and the business units' finance managers and teams.
  • Monitoring the performance and continued fit of investments, and discussing the potential causes of and solutions for deviations from the forecasts with these stakeholders.
  • Monitoring developments and changes in regulations, and consulting with our regulations experts to align the interpretation. You will also identify the consequences for investment portfolios and financial reporting, and discuss these with your stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the regular financial reporting cycles, such as month-end and end-of-quarter closing, as well as Solvency II and DNB reporting. During these closing you work closely with the auditors, explaining the accounts, and coordinating between the business units' finance teams and the auditors to secure efficient provision of information.
  • Keeping in touch with the latest developments in analysis and controlling tooling, and proposing new tooling to improve the efficiency of our processes.

  • 13th month and holiday allowance are paid with your monthly salary.
  • 27 vacation days for a 5-day working week and one Diversity Day.
  • A modern pension administered by BeFrank.
  • Plenty of training and learning opportunities.
  • NS Business Card 2nd class, which gives you unlimited travel, also privately. Do you prefer to travel with your own transport? Then you can declare the kilometres travelled.
  • Allowances for setting up your home office and for internet use.

We work hybrid at NN. Together with your team, you decide where, how and when you work. The official location of this job is The Hague.

Wat je meebrengt

The key to your success is your ability to manage stakeholders at different hierarchical levels effectively, actively interacting with them. You can work under pressure, alternate between tasks and manage deadlines. In addition, you know how to prioritise and stand your ground, harnessing your communication skills to motivate your decisions if you can't meet requests. And you can effectively communicate your findings, convincing your stakeholders of your advice. You also have:

  • A master's degree in Finance, Economics, or another relevant subject.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role in the financial services sector or in asset management.
