What will be your role?

As Technical Architect, you will give substance to the technical architecture issues of Information Services. The technical architecture forms the framework for the solution architecture; from the hardware on which the information services run to the applications and services for research and operations with which an integrated and secure service is realized. The IT environment is hybrid in which the in-house (on-premise) environment is an important basis and increasing use is being made of cloud technology and services.
You are involved in supervising implementations of information, application and technical architectures. As Technical Architect you select products and components on behalf of these implementations, document best practices and TNO standards in Reference Architectures. You maintain the vision of the future IT landscape at the infrastructural level, taking into account development and possibilities on-premise and in the cloud. Furthermore, you bring subject matter expertise in drafting solution architectures/technical designs. To this end, you work closely with the other architects and with other relevant stakeholders.

What we expect from you

Important competencies for this position are vision, problem analysis, judgment, persuasiveness and independence.
In terms of knowledge and experience, we expect the following from you:

• HBO/WO working and thinking level. You must have the ability to develop a vision and to think model-based and in policy structures;
• Working experience in ICT Architecture;
• Knowledge of research-specific business processes is a plus;
• Systems thinking, broad knowledge of infrastructure components and their interrelationships;
• Knowledge and experience with the ICT production process, management process and its exploitation.

We offer a gross monthly salary between scale 11 (€ 4.500 - € 6.000) or 12 (€ 5.500 - € 7.000) ( (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). The selection process

The selection process comprises two interview rounds. In a final meeting we will discuss the terms of employment and your tailored benefits package. We aim to finalize the entire process within four weeks.
A certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is required before starting a new job at TNO.
As you will be working for clients in the domain of defence and security, a Certificate of No Objection issued by AIVD (The Dutch General Information and Security Service) is mandatory. This means you will have to undergo a security screening. Read more about security screening .
